Why Choose the Roll-A-Door® Traditional?

The Roll-A-Door® Traditional is the "Gold Standard" of Australian roller doors. It features a deeper, rounded corrugated profile that provides superior rigidity and strength compared to flatter designs. Engineered for high-frequency use and longevity, it is the ideal choice for families who want a quiet, "greaseless" door that can withstand the demands of a busy household and the harsh Australian climate.

Roll-A-Door® Traditional — Frequently Asked Questions

The Roll-A-Door® Traditional comes with a standard 7-year warranty on the steel door curtain. However, when you purchase the door together with a genuine B&D automatic opener and register your warranty online, you are eligible for the B&D 10-Year Total Confidence Warranty, covering the door, motor, and labor.

Security is built into the design. The Traditional profile features deep 20mm grooves and a high-strength curtain that is harder to force or rattle. When paired with a B&D opener, the motor acts as a secondary lock; however, for maximum security, the door is designed to integrate with B&D’s advanced physical locking technologies.

Auto-Lock is a wireless, heavy-duty deadbolt that automatically engages every time you close your door. While it is standard on the Neo and some sectional doors, it is available as a highly recommended optional upgrade for the Roll-A-Door® Traditional. It more than doubles the force required to lift the door from the outside.

Safety Beams are infrared sensors that stop and reverse the door if a child, pet, or vehicle breaks the beam while the door is closing. B&D always recommends them for safety, but they are legally compulsory if you choose to add Smartphone Control to your door, ensuring you don't accidentally close the door on something while you aren't there to see it.

Yes! As long as your Roll-A-Door® is fitted with a compatible B&D opener (like the Power Drive®), you can add the Smart Phone Control Kit. This allows you to monitor your door’s status, receive alerts, and operate the door from anywhere in the world via the B&D App.

The secret is Nylofelt®. These are special nylon felt strips running along the edges of the door curtain. They provide a greaseless, lubricated surface that eliminates metal-on-metal friction in the tracks, resulting in a significantly quieter and smoother operation that won't wake the neighbors.

The Traditional range is available in the full suite of COLORBOND® steel colours, including the latest contemporary shades. It can also be ordered with B&D’s Timber Coat™ finishes, allowing you to achieve the warmth of a wood-look door with the low maintenance of steel.

The Traditional uses a classic, rounded corrugated profile designed for maximum strength and rigidity (available in both single and double widths). The Neo® is a "designer" hybrid that uses a flatter, brake-pressed profile to look like a modern sectional door. While the Traditional is the workhorse, the Neo® is currently only available for single-car openings and focuses on premium aesthetics.
