Available in widths from 1550 mm to 5100 mm, our WindStrong roller doors suit single and double garages alike. To select the correct door size, choose the width closest to your door and enter your exact measurements. Please note that the listed widths refer to the door size, not the opening. For WindStrong garage doors, add 110 mm to the nominal opening width when measuring.

Advanced WindStrong Technology

Under the 2019 amendment to the National Construction Code, all roller doors must be appropriately rated for the wind speed specific to the building's location. If not correctly rated, the door area will be classified as an open space.

Our WindStrong garage doors are engineered for the wind pressures of Australia’s Wind Regions C and D. Reinforced with additional clips and steel brackets, these doors help prevent the curtain from being forced inward during strong winds.

Keep in mind that larger doors require more brackets—please refer to the installation guide for specific details.

We don’t include fasteners with our cyclone-proof garage doors, as the correct type will vary depending on your building’s construction material.

How do wind locks work?

WindStrong windlocked roller doors utilise durable clips that prevent the door from blowing in due to the wind pressure of violent storms.

This prevents damage to the building’s walls and the cars or contents inside.

How do you brace a garage door for a cyclone?

Follow our standard garage door installation guide, leaving at least 35mm additional clearance for the windclips. Replace the track installation steps with the following:

Slide the brackets onto the track from the bottom. The number of brackets required will vary depending on the width and height of your garage door.
Position the tracks in place and secure them at both the top and bottom.
Align one track bracket with each windclip.
Insert a fastener through the center of each bracket slot to hold it in place.

Please note that we don’t include fasteners with our windlocked roller doors, as the correct fastener type will depend on your building’s substrate. Check with your garage designer to determine the most suitable option.

Can I order a custom size if my opening isn't standard?

Yes, our cyclone-rated garage doors are all made-to-order by Taurean Door Systems. To order a specific width, first select the appropriate garage door height. Then, select the nearest width and enter your custom door measurements. The measurement is for the door itself, not the opening. WindStrong domestic doors require 110mm on top of the nominal opening dimensions.

Do WindStrong doors come with wind-rated fastenings included?

We don’t include fastenings with our WindStrong windlocked roller doors, as the suitable fastenings will depend on the material of your walls.

How much headroom is required for WindStrong roller door installation?

The amount of headroom required for a WindStrong door is the same as a standard door.

Are WindStrong doors suitable for both residential and commercial applications?

These WindStrong windlocked roller doors are designed for domestic door openings only. For larger sheds and buildings on commercial premises, consider our semi-commercial doors.
